Reiki
Reiki seems to have an intelligence of its own, and guides itself to where it needs to goto create the healing conditions necessary for each individual's needs. Although thepractitioner cannot guide the energy, Reiki can guide the practitioner in hand placement and length of time needed for each hand position. Thus, Reiki can never be misused orcause harm. William Rand, in his book The Reiki Touch, beautifully explains how Reiki can be understood scientifically, philosophically, and subjectively (clairvoyantly).Scientifically, it has been shown that weak electrical currents flow throughout the body at exactly the right strength for each cell, tissue, and organ, and in fact are necessary to sustain life function. This is demonstrated by the electrocardiogram, the lectroencephalogram, and the electromyogram, which measure the electrical activity of the heart, brain, and muscles, respectively. Ampere's Law states that an electric current flowing through a conductor creates an electromagnetic field around that conductor. Therefore, every cell, tissue, and organ in the body has its own pulsing electromagnetic field, which can also be measured. Faraday's Law of Electromagnetic Induction states that a change in an elecromagnetic field will induce a similar change in electrical flow in nearby conductors and therefore in their magnetic fields.
Every aspect of the human body, mind, and emotions are connected to and affecting each other through electromagnetic induction, which validates the basic concept of holistic medicine.Further, science also shows that a healthy organ pulses within a certain range of frequencies; an unhealthy organ pulsates out of that healthy range. Optimal frequencies vary according the the organ, tissue, or cell producing them. For example, nerve tissue pulsates in the 2 Hz range, bone around 7 Hz. The heart creates the strongest electromagnetic field and can be measured throughout the body and up to a distance of 15 feet!
The hands of healers have been found to produce strong electromagnetic fields, which are not found around the hands of non-healers. When a healer treats someone who is sick, the healer's hands pulse at a rate that is beneficial to the unhealthy organ, tissue, or cell. Through the process of magnetic induction, the healer's hands induce the healthy frequency into the unhealthy elecrtromagnetic field, thus promoting a healthy state.Philosophically, the beliefs of most Asian countries include the concept of an invisible energy responsible for the life-force and well-being of all living things. This conceptoriginated in China over 5,000 years ago and is called chi . The Japanese call it ki. Ki manifests in many different ways and is described by hundreds of different phrases. For instance good health is described as genki, bad health as byoki. Plants, animals, humans, sunlight, water, earth, and air all have their own kind of ki. Each emotion or feeling has its own kind of ki. Various aspects of business, economics, and psychology are described as having a particular type of ki.Our thoughts and feelings affect the type of ki wthin our physical bodies. Positive thoughts and feelings strengthen ki and give us more confidence, energy, and enthusiasm. Negative thoughts and feelings weaken ki and can bring about depression and sickness. Our subconscious thoughts and feelings also affect ki, as do other people's thoughts and feelings. Even Western medicine recognizes the role played bythe mind in creating illness.
Some Western doctors state that as much as 98% of illness is caused directly or indirectly by the mind! is a type of ki that is guided by the higher mind or higher consciousness. It is filled with compassion, love, peace, and wisdom, and is free of negativity. It knows the cause of every illness or difficulty and how to accomplish its healing. Reiki cannot be affected by our conscious minds or anything negative. It can only create good. Herein lies the beauty and value of Reiki. Knowing exactly where to go and what to do, it can breakup negative ki, respond to restrictions in the flow of ki, eliminate negative thoughts andfeelings lodged in the unconscious mind or body, and thus replace illness with health.
